MLB Odds Preview: Arizona Diamondbacks vs Texas Rangers betting

Interleague, split-city series action resumes this week with the Texas Rangers favored against Arizona. Texas will be at home afer losing two in Arizona.

Divisional leaders continue an unusual four-game, two-city inter-league series as the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers move from Phoenix to Arlington for games Wednesday and Thursday.

Arizona already leads this series two games to none after sweeping a doubleheader at Chase Field Monday by scores of 5-3 and 5-4.

The D'Backs built a 5-0 lead in the opener before hanging on in the ninth inning for the victory, then rallied for two runs in the eighth and the game-winner in the ninth for the win in the nightcap.

Arizona hasn't proven much of a mover or shaker on the odds to win the World Series, which continue to be led by the Detroit Tigers, according to Bodog.

Texas however is tied as the second betting choice at 8-1 with the Atlanta Braves.

The teams then took Tuesday off to travel, before continuing this series in Arlington Wednesday night (8 pm ET).

Heading into Tuesday's action Arizona, at 30-22, leads the NL West by a game and a half over second-place San Francisco.

Texas, meanwhile, at 32-20, leads the AL West by three games over second-place Oakland.

That lead was seven games not too long ago, but the Rangers have lost three in a row, while the A's have won four straight.

These two teams have been two of the better money-makers in baseball so far this season. Arizona is up over $700, based on those theoretical $100 wagers on each game, while Texas is up about $680 according to the baseball profit standings.

Also, while both these teams play their home games at what are thought to be fairly hitter-friendly ballparks, the Rangers and Diamondbacks are a combined 39-60 on the OVER/UNDERS this season.

Texas will send rookie Justin Grimm (4-3, 4.05) to the mound Wednesday against Brandon McCarthy (2-3, 4.36) for Arizona. The Rangers will then go with Derek Holland (4-2, 2.97) against Wade Miley (3-4, 4.53) for the D'Backs Thursday (2 pm ET).

As of earlier this week on Bodog's updated MLB futures betting market, Texas was getting 9/2 to win the American League pennant, while Arizona was getting 12/1 to win the National League.
