Priyanka Chopra's wedding dress had secret sentimental messages sewn into it

Stop what you’re doing, because we just got a glimpse of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding ceremony. The actress married Nick in not one, but two wedding dresses. Of course, both styles were ornate designs that brought the glamor. On Saturday, December 1st, the couple said “I do” in a traditional Western ceremony officiated by Nick’s dad, followed the next day by a traditional Hindu ceremony.

For the first celebration, the Quantico actress dazzled in a traditional white, floor-length gown. Her outfit, along with the groom’s tuxedo and wedding party’s ensembles, were designed by Ralph Lauren. Priyanka’s long-sleeve bridal dress was truly one-of-a-kind as it featured hand-embroidered floral details, tulle thread work with lace-trimmed sleeves, and an intricately beaded collar. According to People, her dress had “2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins and a 75-foot long tulle veil.”

As if that weren’t special enough, the publication also reports that Priyanka’s gown included “a piece of her now-mother-in-law Denise Jonas’s lace wedding dress from her 1985 wedding.” The actress even included a series of sweet messages that were sewn into her dress. Some of them were “Nicholas Jerry Jonas,” “1st December 2018,” and “Love.” There were eight messages total.

Go ahead and grab the tissues now, because there’s more. The lovely bride’s gown wasn’t the only thing that featured sentimental details. Nick’s tuxedo wasn’t your average black suit, white button-down, and tie. A piece of lace from Priyanka’s wedding dress was sewn into his jacket, embroidered with the Urdu words “My Jaan,” which means “My Life.” Tears.

To celebrate Priyanka’s culture, the couple had a Hindu ceremony on Sunday, December 2nd. The bride wore a traditional red lehenga, which featured elaborate beading and embroidery for both the cropped top, skirt, and floor-length veil. The dress was made by Indian designer Sabyasachi, and it “took 110 embroiderers and 3,720 hours to make the hand-cute organza flowers, French knots, and layers of thread work,” according to People.
