Worcester County League of Sportsmen’s Clubs Announces Youth Outreach Events

The Worcester County League of Sportsmen’s Club is set to sponsor numerous Youth Outreach Days this winter and spring.

The days are intended to engage youth within Worcester County and provide a focus on a number of outdoor programs, education, and sports ranging from rising, hiking, conservation and shooting sports.

The days are as follows:

Sunday, February 18, 11am-3pm. 3rd Annual Kids Day at the Nimrod League of Holden. The program features bat house and turkey call making along with archery indoors for any skill level.  Food and drinks provided. This entire event is free. 168 Coal Kiln Road, Princeton, MA.

Saturday, March 3, 10am-2pm. Annual Kids Day at the Norco Sportsman’s Club. The program features bird and bat house building, archery skills and spin-casting skills, making a walking stick, bird seed treats, turkey calls, lure making, MA wildlife program materials and more. The event is free and open to the public. 91 Houghton Road, Princeton, MA.

Saturday, April 28, start time is 10:00 am, Central MA Trout Unlimited is sponsoring the 2nd annual High School State Fly Fishing Championship.  The program is held at the Trout Brook Recreation Facility in Holden, MA. With fishing on the Quinipoxet River.  320 Manning Street Holden, MA.

Sunday, May 20th, 2018, Otter River Sportsmans Club Youth events start at 8:30 am with breakfast being served at 7:30 am.  The program features an introduction to hunting, fishing, and sportsman's safety for youths ages 8-16. Must be accompanied by an adult. Special Feature - Thomas Ricardi’s  " Mass Birds of Prey" demonstration at 1:00 pm.
