ARVADA, CO – Thinking about flushing those long-expired prescription drugs? Stop right there! Flushing prescription medication can lead to drinking water pollution and chemical reactions in wildlife, the U.S. FDA says.

If you have unwanted or unneeded prescription drugs, Saturday, April 13 is a day to safely dispose of them. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a program organized by the US DEA to help prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

In Arvada, the Drug Take-Back program, is being combined with a fundraiser for the W. Michael Northey Foundation and the Arvada Police Department, to give residents a safe way to dispose of those unneeded meds.
