Kaizer Chiefs v Polokwane City: Kick off, TV channel, live score, squad news & preview

For the first time in many years, Kaizer Chiefs will play without their fans following the PSL Disciplinary Committe ruling to punish them for the unruly behaviour of their supporters in Durban earlier this year.

While Amakhosi appealed the ruling, they have decided to take this match to Durban as the PSL DC still stands even after their appeal.

The Glamour Boys last played without their fans over a decade ago for something similar, and coach Giovanni Solinas has admitted that this clash will have a 'funeral atmosphere'.

Rise and Shine's fan base doesn't come closer to that of Chiefs, and while the Soweto giants may be one of the strongest sides in the league, Jozef Vukusic's charges will want to take full advantage of the absence of their fans.

Chairman Kaizer Motaung has already urged the club supporters to stay at home and not attempt to get any closer to the venue to avoid chaos.

PositionMissing players
Midfielder Joseph Molangoane (injured)
Striker Leonardo Castro (injured)

Apart from missing their fans for this encounter, Chiefs will also be without their influential striker Leonardo Castro.

The lanky frontman is still recovering from injury, and Solinas only expects him to be back after the international break.

Joseph Molangoane may only return to action in the second half of the season as he's currently nursing a broken leg.

In their absence though, Chiefs have players who are more than capable of doing the job at any given day.

Khama Billiat remains the heart and soul of this Amakhosi team, but there's still the likes of Lebogang Manyama, Willard Katsande and Itumeleng Khune, who all have proven to be important members of the team.

Potential Chiefs XI: Khune, Mphahlele, Walusimbi, Cardoso, Ngezana, Katsande, Ntshangase, Manyama, Billiat, Zuma, Paez .

Meanwhile, Rise and Shine will be without Salulani Phiri for this clash.

The Zambian player was sent off in City's 1-0 win over Bidvest Wits over a week ago. He missed his side's 1-1 draw with SuperSport United in midweek.

However, Vukusic has Jabulani Maluleke, who is the captain of the team to pin his hopes on.

Ayanda Nkili scored in the previous match despite being a left-back, but all eyes will be on Rodney Ramagalela, who hasn't really rediscovered his last season's form.

Potential Polokwane City XI: Chigova, Nkili, Chigova, Mvelase, Motloung, Hlongwane, Manaka, Maluleke, Seabi, Musona, Anas, Ramagalela.
