HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - An overturned tractor trailer blocked all lanes of southbound Interstate 95 at mile marker 93.2 in Hanover County for three hours today. The accident happened around 12:30 p.m.

All lanes are now open on Interstate 95 south at mile marker 93 (just before Route 54 exit) following an earlier overturned double load tractor trailer, which closed I-95 south for three hours. Motorists should expect residual delays.

According to Virginia State Police, a 2007 International Tractor with dual trailers was traveling southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway.  The driver over-corrected causing the vehicle to overturn onto its right side blocking all of the southbound travel lanes and both shoulders.

Both trailers were fully loaded at the time of the crash.  None of the contents inside the trailers spilled out onto the roadway.  The tractor-trailer was up righted and moved over to the right shoulder around 2:15 p.m.

The driver of the UPS tractor trailer, Raymond E. Doggett, 59, of Raleigh N.C., suffered serious non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.  He was charged with reckless driving.  He was wearing his safety belt. Doggett was traveling from Northern Virginia to Raleigh, N.C.
