Norman Dahl

Norman Dahl, age 75, of Borup, MN, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, in his home surrounded by family while under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Norman Luther Dahl, son of Theodore and Mabel (Skoien) Dahl, was born on August 22, 1942, in Ada, MN. He grew up on the family farm near Borup, where he attended school and graduated in 1960. After high school, Norman went on to study at the Lutheran Brethen Bible School in Fergus Falls, MN. After one year of school, he returned to the family farm where he farmed with his father until taking over the farm himself. Norman was united in marriage to Miriam Quam on November 25, 1972, in McIntosh, MN. They continued to live near Borup where they farmed, as well as raised their family. In the early 2000's, Norman sold his dairy operation but continued farming until 2017. Norman continued to make his home on the farm until the time of his death. Norman trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation and lived out his faith in daily life. He will always be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Norman's favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren and family, especially outdoors or on the farm. He was a good friend and helpful neighbor, and at any given opportunity, he loved to share the good news of God's free gift of salvation. Norman was active in Jevnaker Lutheran Church, Gideons International, and the Rockwell Township Board. His kindheartedness and genuine smile will be missed by everyone who knew him. Norman is survived by his wife of 45 years, Miriam; one daughter, Rachel (Eric) Rasmussen of Fergus Falls, MN; three sons: Nathanael (Tiffany) of Bismarck, ND Benjamin (Amber) of Moorhead, MN, and Jonathan (Melissa) of Laporte, MN, 13 grandchildren; his brother, Harvey (Dianne) Dahl of Borup; his sisters, Marjorie Nelson of Crystal, MN, and Thelma (Harvey) Zicafoose of Austin, MN; and his brother-in-law, Alvin (Charlotte) Carlson of Ada, MN.
