Stop Sign Violation Leads to Coke Charges in Glastonbury
A man was driving without an ignition device with drugs in the car.
GLASTONBURY, CT — A stop sign violation on Hebron Avenue turned into drunken driving device violation and drug charges, Glastonbury police said.
David Cheever, 33, of Rocky Hill, was pulled over at 1:24 a.m. on Jan. 20 near the the Main Street-Hebron Avenue interchange. He was supposed to have an interlocking ignition device in his vehicle and did not, police said, and for that he was charged with the violation.
Before the car was towed away, police searched it and found cocaine and drug paraphernalia and that resulted in four more charges — coke possession, operating a drug factory, narcotics possession, and possessing of drug paraphernalia.

He posted a $100,000 bond and was assigned a Feb. 7 court date, police said.
