BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The man killed in a crash on State Highway 304 in Bastrop County on Monday has been identified by the Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened at 6:36 p.m. near Ott Road, about seven miles north of Rosanky. Three vehicles were involved in the crash

A Dodge Ram pickup truck heading southbound moved into the northbound lane, hitting a Dodge Dakota pickup truck on its left side. The Dakota then skidded into a ditch. The Ram kept going and hit another truck, a Chevrolet Silverado, in a head-on collision in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Nicolas Hernandez Estrada, 31, from Smithville, died at the scene. The driver of the Dakota was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center where she was treated and released. The driver of the Silverado was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge.

A passenger in the Silverado was treated by medics and released at the scene.

DPS is still investigating. Troopers say it is not clear if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The speed limit on the road is 70 mph. Clear and dry conditions were reported at the time of the crash.
