Last night, the National and Common performed at Show Up!—a Planned Parenthood and All Access Coalition benefit concert in Washington, D.C. During their set, the National played a new song. It’s called “Turtleneck,” according to a setlist the band shared. Watch a segment of their performance below (via BrooklynVegan).
This past fall, National frontman Matt Berninger revealed some details about the band’s follow-up to Trouble Will Find Me. He said the record is “about marriage, and it’s about marriages falling apart.” He also said they were “deep in” making it.
Tomorrow night, the National will appear at the Official After-Party for the Women’s March on Washington. Sleater-Kinney, Tig Notaro, Ted Leo, and more are also featured in the event, which takes place at D.C.’s 9:30 Club.
