One man was stabbed in the neck and critically injured, and another was slashed in the face, during a melee in a Brooklyn playground Thursday night, police said.
Cops said the victims were knifed in the Nostrand Playground, on Foster and New York Aves. in East Flatbush, at about 7:30 p.m.
One of the victims, a 22-year-old man, lost consciousness after another man knifed him in the back of the neck, police sources said.
Nicola Daniels, 29, said she saw him stagger toward him, gushing blood from his wound.
“He was stabbed in the neck, near the jugular. I tried to save him. I took his jersey off and wrapped it around his neck to stop the bleeding,” she said. “I was getting him to lay back and tried to get him to stop shaking. He was going into shock.”
She said his eyes rolled into his head as she worked. “His pulse was barely there. It looked like he was going. I tried to save him. I tried my best.”
Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital with life-threatening wounds. By early Friday, doctors had stabilized him, cops said.
The second victim, 20, also went to Kings County Hospital.
“The second boy was squatting down in the grass. He was cut and bleeding from the face and the ear,” Daniels recounted.
Four men ran from the park after the attack, and police believe the man who wielded the blade wore his hair in blond cornrows.
