Unite Arlington is seeking volunteers for a city-wide weekend of service

Organizers expect more than 3,000 volunteers to help out across the city this weekend.

Unite Arlington is looking for volunteers to serve across the city this weekend.

The annual service event is run by Engage Arlington, a partnership of area churches working together to improve the city.

Projects range from gardening and landscaping to construction, and organizers say anyone interested in helping will be able to find a suitable match.

“We are focusing on a simple goal of connecting as many volunteers as possible with projects that positively affect people in the Arlington community,” said Art Hooker, with Engage Arlington, on the city’s website. “Hopefully it culminates in a desire within the volunteers to continue looking for opportunities to do good all year long.”
