Davy Klaassen: Everton midfielder joins Werder Bremen

Netherlands international Davy Klaassen has completed his move from Everton to Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old was not involved in the Toffees' 3-0 friendly defeat at Blackburn on Thursday after being given permission to travel to Germany.
Bremen have reportedly paid £12m for the former Ajax captain, who joined Everton in June 2017 for £23.6m.
He made only 16 Everton appearances, and was told he had no future at the club by new head coach Marco Silva.
"It was important to me to know exactly where the journey was going on the pitch and the ambitions of the club have convinced me," Klaassen told Bremen's website.
"After my exchange with [coach] Florian Kohfeldt, I have a very good feeling that I can make an important contribution here with my abilities.
"The coach wants to play attractive, attacking football. I am really looking forward to that."
Klaassen's year at Goodison Park was a turbulent one, with Ronald Koeman - the manager who signed him - sacked in October and replaced five weeks later by Sam Allardyce, who was himself dismissed in May to make way for Silva.

Good luck Davy, on behalf of all rational fans of football.
If I was an Everton fan I would be seriously worried about how my club was being run.
In total an £18 million loss for an attacking midfielder who got zero goals and 1 assist!
They've basically paid £18 million for an assist!
"No idea why they signed him in the first place and they have now sold him on a 11.4m loss. What on earth do they do in recruiting at Everton? "
He was highly rated in Holland. But that’s the Dutch league for you, very hit and miss. Look at Kezman and Janssen. Then look at Robben and Van Persie. It happens.
As a pompey fan I loved going to goodison (been a fair few ago now 😞) but give me a ground like goodison any day of the stale, boring, 'nice' grounds like the Emirates, Stanford Bridge or Old Traffofrd!
Players needs stability something Everton can’t offer anyone lately.
First club presented with the League Championship trophy.
First club to stage an FA Cup Final in 1894.
First club to build a purpose-built football stadium
Fk off Lilly yes it old but the place is historic.
Good luck to him - he deserves an opportunity in a team that can use his (undoubted, but unseen) skills in the future.
Everton as a club (might be the past these days) have always been seen as a stalwart club. Only their fans will have a true idea.
Klassen then had the opportunity to impress caretaker manager Unsworth in training and get a 2nd chance in the first team, he failed to do so.
Along comes Sam and another chance to impress, failed.
4th and final chance with Silva and again failed.
For whatever reason he wasnt good enough to get into the first team.

Given EFC's spending is causing much controversy and interest, is it worth considering how much Spurs and LFC have spent in the last 10 years? Small fortunes, far more than EFC, and yet Spurs have won nothing in that time and LFC have won 1 League Cup (on penalties, vs a Championship team). Point is, all clubs who see themselves as 'big' spend loads & most waste it.
