A pedestrian who was killed Thursday night in southwest Denver when hit by an RTD light-rail train apparently did so of their own volition, police say.

“Initial evidence shows that the deceased may have taken intentional steps to cause the incident,” a Denver police tweet says.

The collision happened about 9 p.m. in the area of West Bayaud Avenue and South Santa Fe Drive, according to Denver police.

The H-Line was shut down, and motor-vehicle traffic in the area was rerouted. The victim was not identified.

The H-Line remains closed, but RTD employees are working diligently to restore service, the tweet says.
