THE SURF will certainly be up at The Artrix in Bromsgrove this month, with a walk down Memory Lane to the stirring music of The Beach Boys.

Two years before the Summer of Love, The Beach Boys were singing the praises of California girls and painting an enduring musical portrait of perfect beaches, waves and eternal summer sunshine.

A spokesman said: “Dynamic Beach Boys tribute Surf’s Up return to Artrix with their most summery and magical set to date – Surf’s Up – Summer Days ‘65.

“For the first time ever, their first set will feature exclusively an amazing selection of songs, all from the same year: 1965!”

In 1965 The Beach Boys were riding high, and their three albums from that year were crammed with summer classics and gorgeous ballads.

The spokesman added: “Audiences should be prepared to be stunned by the perfect harmonies of Surf’s Up as they pay tribute to these three classic albums, Today, Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!) and Party.

“Surf’s Up will perform songs and hits you love, like California Girls, Help Me Rhonda, Barbara Ann, Then I Kissed Her, When I Grow Up, Dance Dance Dance, You’re So Good to Me and Do You Wanna Dance. Along with the rare treat of hearing some of the wonderful hidden classics on these two amazing albums, such as Please Let Me Wonder, Girl Don’t Tell Me, Let Him Run Wild, Good to My Baby and Salt Lake City.”

“The band’s second set will showcase even more of the Beach Boys hits and classics that you know and love - you’ll be singing and dancing your flip-flops off all night, guaranteed!”

The date for the diary is Saturday July 20, from 8pm.
