PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY). CareDox plans to offer free flu shots to students in Portsmouth Public schools. Healthy Schools will manage the school-based vaccination program, from getting parent consent to setting up on-campus vaccination clinics to billing students’ insurers directly.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu vaccination protects against numerous flu strains, eases symptoms if a child gets sick, and reduces flu-related hospitalizations. Due to the severity of the flu season last year, CareDox wants to make sure every student has the opportunity to sign up. To register, click here.
