Multi-vehicle crash closes I-70 westbound lanes near New Stanton
A driver of a car that crashed into a tractor-trailer parked off the westbound lanes of Interstate 70, one mile west of the Yukon exit, was taken by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital Monday afternoon, Yukon Fire Chief Clarence Trout said.
The tractor-trailer which developed some kind of problem, was pulled off the highway and had triangle markers signifying it was stopped when the accident occurred at about 3 p.m., the fire chief said.
The westbound lanes of I-70 near the Yukon exit were closed for about two hours because of the accident, Trout said. State police at Belle Vernon investigated the accident.
