Hangar Dance to benefit pilot museum

The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, a long-established local nonprofit, is hosting a Hangar Dance from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 29 at Sundance Airport in Canadian County.

The dance will benefit the organization's Museum of Women Pilots, which opened at Will Rogers World Airport in 1999.

The Justin Pierce Band will be performing and food will be available for purchase. There also will be a cash bar. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1940s attire. A prize will be given for best dressed.

AutismOklahoma receives $150,000 donation

AutismOklahoma has received a third year of funding from the Arnall Family Foundation for $150,000. The gift will enable AutismOklahoma to expand its current offerings, evaluate outcomes and work toward future sustainability to meet the needs of the Oklahoma autism community.

AutismOklahoma has grown from one parent support group to groups in 11 locations throughout the state, enhancing the lives of 4,500 children, adults and families affected by autism each year.

St. Jude announces winner of Dream Home

Richard Healy saw one of his dreams come true — and it only cost him $100. The winner of the 2018 Oklahoma City St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway was surprised and honored to be one of the hundreds of winners across the country to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Estimated to be valued at $650,000, the 3,500-square-foot home built by Foster Signature Homes is located in the Addington Farms neighborhood in Edmond.

Not only does the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway benefit the new homeowner, but also the patients of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital who are battling cancer and other deadly diseases.

Community service awards to honor four

The 2018 John F. Kennedy Community Service Award reception and dinner will recognize the significant community services by honorees Tricia Everest, Kim and Brad Henry, and Mark Ruffin on Sept. 20 at the Skirvin Hilton, 1 Park Ave.

A silent auction and VIP reception begin at 6 p.m., pre-dinner cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner program at 7 p.m. Funds will benefit Santa Fe Family Life Center and its sports and fitness programs for those with disabilities and disadvantaged youth.
