American Flag Football League (AFFL) hosted the U.S. Open of Football, a $1,000,000 winner take all tournament on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Florham Park, N.J. The American Flag Football League will premiere LIVE on NFL Network beginning June 30, 2018. The AFFL is a 7-on-7 pro flag football league featuring star athletes Michael Vick, Nate Robinson and Chad Johnson (Adam Hunger/AP Images for American Flag Football League). The semifinals come to Highmark Stadium on Pittsburgh's South Side June 30-July 1.

This is the last weekend to see Pittsburgh Public Theater's The Reduced Shakespeare Company's William Shakespeare’s “Long Lost First Play (abridged).

It is going to be a scorcher this weekend, so why not spend some time cooling off in one of the Citiparks' pools? Take in some live entertainment – either at the WYEP Summer Music Festival in Schenley Park or at the Luke Bryan concert at Heinz Field. This is the last weekend to catch Pittsburgh Public Theater' The Reduced Shakespeare Company's William Shakespeare's "Long Lost First Play (abridged)." Written and directed by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, this uproarious comedy runs through July 1 at the O'Reilly Theater in the Cultural District. For sports fans, it's the quarterfinals of America's bracket of the American Flag Football League's U.S. Open of Football.

TAKE A DIVE

With 18 Citiparks' outdoor pools, one of them will be the perfect spot to cool off. With expected temperatures in the mid 90s, it's going to be a scorcher, so put on your suit and go swimming. Locations include: Ammon in the Hill District, Bloomfield, Highland Park, Homewood, Magee in Greenfield, Schenley Park, West Penn in Polish Hill, Jack Stack in Brighton Heights, Riverview in Perry North, Sue Murray on the North Side, Banksville, McBride in Lincoln Place, Moore in Brookline, Ormsby on the South Side, Phillips in Carrick, Ream on Mt. Washington, Sheraden and Westwood. Pool tags are available, as is a daily admission fee.

FLAGS WILL BE FLYING

The quarterfinals of America's bracket of the American Flag Football League's U.S. Open of Football—a multimillion-dollar, nationwide pro flag football tournament will be hosted at Highmark Stadium on Pittsburgh's South Side June 30-July 1.

The American Flag Football League is the preeminent professional flag football league in the United States and the first of its kind.

The U.S. Open of Football began with 132 teams from across the country and fans in Pittsburgh can watch America's eight remaining teams compete for a chance at making it to the Ultimate Final against the top pro team in Houston on July 19.

This sport is a fast-paced, action-packed brand of football, combined with the intimacy of Highmark Stadium, which will create a unique game-day experience.

Games begin at 7 p.m. June 30 when Dallas Ducks take on Primetime and Fighting Cancer goes against Strong Island Bulldogs. At 4 p.m. on July 1, it's Mean Machine versus Code Red and Church's Money against The Money Team.

A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY

Country star Luke Bryan takes over Heinz Field on Pittsburgh North Side at 5 p.m. June 30 for the "What Makes You Country Tour." Special guests include Sam Hunt, Jon Pardi and Morgan Wallen. A Nashville, Tenn., native Bryan has sold over 7 million albums and 27 million singles worldwide. His first eight albums included 14 No. 1 hits. In 2013, he received the Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Association Awards "Entertainer of the Year" award.

MUSIC FESTIVAL

The WYEP Summer Music Festival is from 3 to 10 p.m. June 30 at Schenley Plaza in Oakland. The headliner is Langhorne Slim & the Lost at Last Band. Slim, hailing originally from Langhorne, Pa., and now residing in Nashville, is no stranger to the world of popular culture and commercial success. His latest release "Lost At Last Vol. 1" is his sixth full-length album. Other performers include Low Cut Connie, a band formed in 2010 in Philadelphia. Lyndsey Smith has been bringing music to the souls of music lovers for the past six years. The WYEP Reimagination Showcase will feature three of the youth bands in this year's Reimagination artist development program — Colorblind Coding, Kaelber and Luke B. Wood.

THE FINAL ACT

Pittsburgh Public Theater welcomes back The Reduced Shakespeare Company to close season 34 with William Shakespeare's "Long Lost First Play (abridged)." Written and directed by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, this uproarious comedy runs through July 1 at the O'Reilly Theater in the Cultural District.

According to The Reduced Shakespeare Company, they found a sprawling manuscript by 17-year-old William Shakespeare in a parking lot in Leicester, England. In it young Will took a stab at his most famous works to come.
