Well, here’s a fun thing.
In keeping with his new image as a besotted boyfriend with a sense of humor, Alex Rodriguez played a little prank on an unsuspecting fan who wasn’t 100% sure if she was actually talking to ARod, the guy dating Jennifer Lopez.
In the clip, Rodriguez deftly downplays who he is while poking fun at some of the photos the woman shows him, trying to get him to admit that he is in fact ARod.
“Yeah, ARod..the’s the guy that JLo is dating,” she says, showing him pictures of himself.
The entire clip is endearing–he calls himself a tool! he dunks on his own taste in pajamas! But my favorite part is the wink ARod shoots whoever’s shooting the video. It says, ‘go with me on this, because I smell a viral moment happening.”
Anyway, he plays coy for a bit before admitting that yes, he is in fact that dude dating Jennifer Lopez, because honestly, who doesn’t want to be that guy?
And before we jump all over this young woman for not recognizing him right away, let me just say from personal experience, that it is hard to put names to faces when you randomly see famous people out of context. I once had a conversation with Tony Romo and it wasn’t until the cab ride home that I realized it was Tony freaking Romo. So, I get it.
