Kristoff St. John's Fiancée Says 'I Believe a Bright Future Awaits Me' Following Actor's Death

Kristoff St. John was found dead on Sunday Feb. 3 at his home in the San Fernando Valley

Kristoff St. John‘s fiancée Kseniya Mikhaleva is feeling hopeful about the future following The Young and the Restless star’s sudden death.

On Monday, the Russian-born model started her week by expressing all of the things she’s grateful for.

“Every morning I start by thanking the Universe for giving me one more wonderful, amazing day,” Mikhaleva captioned a selfie on Instagram.

“Every morning, I devote five to ten minutes. I thank you for a good dream, for my body, my home, my pets, my friends, for the material things I possess, for everything that awaits me in the afternoon.”

“In conclusion, I always ask for life to give me more knowledge, more understanding, so that my horizons are constantly expanding,” Mikhaleva continued.

“The more we see, the more we know, the simpler our life becomes. I believe a bright future awaits me.”

The uplifting post comes just a few days after Mikhaleva shared a sweet tribute to St. John, who announced their engagement in September 2018.

“You were the light for me and for many people,” Mikhaleva wrote alongside a photo of herself and St. John sharing a warm embrace.

“Your soul and spirit always with me. I wish I could have been there to let you know how much you mean to me. You are deep in my heart,” Mikhaleva concluded adding “I’m praying for your family. Rest in paradise.”

After news of St. John’s death broke on Feb. 4, Mikhaleva posted and then deleted an Instagram post mourning the loss of her late husband-to-be.

“How did it happen ??? How ??? Why did you leave so early ???? and left me alone ….. I can’t believe 💔💔💔💔” she captioned a photo of St. John, who played Neil Winters on the long-running soap, kissing her forehead.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed to PEOPLE that St. John was found dead at a home in Woodland Hills on Sunday, Feb. 3. He was pronounced deceased at 4:02 p.m.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a death investigation took place at around 2:05 p.m. for a possible alcohol overdose at the 2300 block of Morea Way.

Prior to his death, St. John rang in the New Year with Mikhaleva and shared multiple photos of their celebration to Instagram, referring to her as “my love.”

St. John was last active on the social media on Jan. 21, when he retweeted someone’s post about losing a child that reads, “Grieving the loss of a child is a process. It begins on the day your child passes, and ends the day the parents join them.”

“Never a truer word was spoke,” St. John tweeted. “Thanks for posting this.”

St. John’s son Julian with ex-wife Mia St. John died by suicide four years ago following a lifelong battle with mental illness.

Mia, 51, previously spoke out about the last conversation she had with the actor.

“He called me at 11 a.m. and the first thing he said is, ‘Oh Mia, thank God you answered,” Mia tearfully told Entertainment Tonight of speaking to St. John on the morning of his death on Feb. 4.

Mia then told ET that St. John was disoriented and told her that he saw their late son.

“‘Julian’s at the door,'” Mia recalled her ex-husband telling her over the phone.

Shortly after, St. John was found dead at his home in San Fernando Valley after one of his friends went to check on him.

In addition to their phone call, Mia says she and St. John were “texting back and forth that day.”

“He said, ‘Understand, you’ve got to live in the present. Observe all the good things in your life and others around you. Julian would not want you to live your life with bitterness and upset,'” Mia told the outlet, sharing her ex-husband’s final words.

“When Julian passed… he literally died of a broken heart. Kristoff suffered from bipolar; our son had schizophrenia. I just felt like it was just hard to get people to pay attention,” Mia explained to Entertainment Tonight.

St. John is also survived by his daughter Paris with Mia and daughter Lola with ex-wife Allana Nadal.
