Missouri Congressman Filibusters Protester With Auctioneer Call

Sometimes C-SPAN makes for great television.

MISSOURI — When a conservative protester interrupted a hearing with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Billy Long, a Republican who represents Missouri's 7th Congressional District, took a walk down memory lane in an attempt to filibuster her. In a previous life, it seems, Long was an auctioneer, and when the committee chairman's remonstrations failed, Long effortlessly broke into a bid call until the protester was escorted out of the chamber.

"I yield back," Long said at the end of his call.

The protester seems to have been complaining about so-called shadow banning of conservatives on Twitter, something the president himself has highlighted in recent weeks — coincidentally, also on Twitter. The company said the practice doesn't exist and that conservatives aren't silenced on the platform.

"Please help us Mr. President before it is too late, because Jack Dorsey is trying to influence the election — to sway the election — so Democrats can steal the election," the woman said before being removed by security. "That is why he is censoring and shadow banning conservatives."
