Mt. Vernon police warn of fake officer on social media

MT. VERNON, IL (KFVS) - One man is in trouble with law enforcement after he was caught impersonating an official on social media.

The Mount Vernon Police Department posted on Facebook that a "Jeremy Brock" claimed to be a member of the department on Facebook.

The post also shows a photograph of the false officer.

Department officials said the post is a hoax.

The department does not have an Officer Jeremy Brock and the photograph is not an officer in the department.
