Toddler Ejected From Truck In Crash Near Salinas: CHP
The child was rushed to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center following the crash on U.S. Highway 101, CHP officials said.
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — A 3-year-old boy suffered major injuries when he was ejected from a truck that crashed into another vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 south of Salinas on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 101 at Spence Road.
A red 2007 Ford F-150 driven by a 20-year-old King City woman was turning onto Highway 101 from westbound Spence Road when an orange 2017 Chevrolet Express Cargo truck heading north on Highway 101 collided with the Ford truck, CHP officials said.
The 3-year-old boy, who was in a child seat but was not properly restrained in it, was ejected from the Ford truck as a result of the crash.

He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and is in stable condition today, according to the CHP.
The Ford driver and the boy's 37-year-old mother, who was a passenger in the Ford, were not injured, while the 42-year-old Paso Robles resident driving the Chevrolet complained of pain to his leg, CHP officials said.
