A 24-hour Web camera is now operating on Seaside Beach.
Provided by the Seaside Chamber of Commerce and hosted at the Lanai, the camera provides sweeping views of the beach from south to north.

chamber.com can control the camera to scan the area. A second camera will be placed within a few weeks offering a view from north to south.The Seaside Aquarium is planning an event to help the Friends of Haystack Rock.
On Sunday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Seaside Aquarium will be holding an open house to benefit the Friends of Haystack Rock. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for the Friends of Haystack Rock.
At noon, meet Nala Cardillo, the incoming director of the Haystack Rock Awareness Program, and say goodbye to the outgoing director, Lisa Sheffieldguy. Sharnelle Fee, director of the Wildlife Center of the North Coast, will be showcasing some of her birds, including a beautiful pair of rescued pelicans.
Harbor seal food can be purchased for $1 per tray, with proceeds going to support the Wildlife Center of the North Coast. Feeding the aquariums seals is a highlight of any trip to the coast.
Several hundred dollars worth of prizes will be raffeled away, so drop by early to enter. Drawings will be held from noon to 4 p.m., and you don't need to be present to win. For more information, call the Seaside Aquarium at 503-738-6211.
The Seaside Aquarium is at 200 N. Prom, just north on the Turnaround on the Seaside Promontory.
