The West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration held an awards ceremony on Thursday at Webster County High School after they tied for third-place in the WVABCA’s 5th annual ‘No School Spirits PSA contest’.

The contest invites high school students to submit a video or essay that deals with either underage drinking, or drinking and driving.

“This year’s contest is the biggest ever, with 375 students participating. The WVABCA received 211 entries, nearly quadrupling last year’s entries received,” said WVABCA Commissioner Fred Wooton in a statement.

Students at Webster County High School entered a claymation video named ‘Wildman of Rock”. This video, which took over 400 still pictures to produce, showed that alcohol makes people do wild things that lead to bad consequences.

A $500 cash prize, as well as a certificate of recognition from Governor Jim Justice was awarded to the school.

Herbert Hoover High School finished in first place, while Berkeley Springs High School finished in second. Webster County High School and South Charleston High School both tied for third place.
