Harbor Point In Stamford Announces 2018 Summer Events

Developer BLT and event partner Biederman Redevelopment Ventures are hosting the events, beginning on May 5.

From Great Ink Communications: Harbor Point, the transformative mixed-use waterfront development in Stamford, is once again offering free public programming for both residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the summer. This summer, developer BLT and its event partner Biederman Redevelopment Ventures (BRV) are bringing their largest schedule of outdoor events to the more than 12 acres of public open space in Harbor Point.

The roster of events at Harbor Point will offer something for everyone in Stamford to enjoy throughout the warm weather months of 2018, including seasonal activities, recreation, events, nightlife, and dining. All weekly recreational programs remain complimentary and will include a variety of fitness, entertainment, arts and cultural happenings along with children's specialty programs. Free weekly classes include yoga, barre, Zumba, and painting lessons, and a children’s obstacle course along with outdoor movies, live concerts, and a farmer’s market. In addition, complimentary Wi-Fi access has been added to Commons Park and the Harbor Point Waterfront.

The extensive list of available offerings all add up to another summer loaded with entertainment and good times at Harbor Point.

When you combine our extensive free offerings with our beautiful waterfront location and stunning views, Harbor Point is the place to be in Fairfield County to relax, enjoy the outdoors and just have fun during the summer months.”

The schedule will kick off with the 10th Annual South End/Waterside Neighborhood Cleanup on May 5th, followed by the Boys & Girls Club 5K and Waterfront Block Party on May 23rd which is also the start date for the Harbor Point Water Taxi. Back by popular demand, the weekly Harbor Point Movie Night series will kick off on June 13 -- the schedule has been extended for a total of 10 weeks this year and will include pre-movie concerts in Commons Park. The ever-popular Sunday Farmer’s Market will begin in July and will also feature live music all season long courtesy of Steel Drum and Brass Bands. Other returning events include the Harbor Point Car Show on June 10th; the Moffly Media Best Bartenders Contest on June 13; the Exhale/Lululemon African Yoga Jam on July 20; the Harbor Point Arts Festival on July 28-29; the Harbor Fest & Fireworks event on August 25; the Stamford Whiskey & Brew and the American Liver Foundation Walk in September.

The numerous summer recreational options at Harbor Point are also returning in 2018 including evening “Pub Runs” led by Stampede; outdoor yoga with Exhale and Mantra, Energy Blast with Chelsea Piers, Crossfit with Carozza Fitness, classes in Barre, Zumba, Tai Chi, Stroller Strides, Bollywood and Latin Dance; art lessons with Pinot’s Palette; juggling lessons; storytime in the park with the Ferguson Library; public sails, kayak and paddleboard rentals by SoundWaters in Boccuzzi Park. The new Harbor Point Dog Park will feature events with Wagmore, Dog Gone Smart, Bulls Head Veterinary, and Spot On Veterinary. In addition, Fortina, Mexicue, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Sign of the Whale and Crab Shell have a full roster of events throughout the summer. Daily amenities for visitors will include Lawn Games, Giant Games, Ping Pong, Reading Room, Games Cart, Fitness Equipment and Volleyball.

The dining choices at Harbor Point continue to expand and offer a variety of choices for every taste. Mexicue, the restaurant known for its inspired fusion of Mexican favorites and American smoky barbeque, has now officially opened at Harbor Point as their first location outside of Manhattan. The Coffee Spot, a new full-service coffee bar, opened in mid-April, and they will be joined by Patisserie Salzberg and Horseneck Liquors later this spring. Other eateries include Asian Bistro; Bareburger; Boothbay Lobster, Corbo’s Deli; Crab Shell; Dinosaur BarBQue; Fortina, Harlan Social; Fairway Market, Le Pain Quotidien, Prime; Sign of the Whale; T’s Wine Bar and Kitchen; and others.

BLT continues to support a variety of transportation to, from, and within Harbor Point – whether by land or sea. The Harbor Point trolley runs to the Stamford Train Station and Downtown Stamford and can be tracked live here or via the free smartphone app. The Harbor Point Water Taxi will commence operations on May 23rd. Every event and retail option at Harbor Point is surrounded by complimentary parking and is easily accessible by visiting boaters.
