GAINESVILLE, Mo. — Two adults and a child are dead following a fire that swept through a mobile home in Gainesville, Missouri early Tuesday.

Ozark County Coroner Shane Ledbetter tells KOLR10 News the victims are Robert Sims, age 45, his son Jesse Sims, age 12, and Robert’s girlfriend Kathy Baker, also 45.  The boy attended Gainesville Elementary School, Ledbetter said.

The three died of smoke inhalation in the fire at the Airport Trailer Park on the east edge of Gainesville.

Gainesville Fire Chief Ed Doiron says the fire was reported at 4:09 a.m.  The trailer “…was heavily involved when we got there,” Doiron said.

Ledbetter says fire officials determined the fire started near the front door of the mobile home, in the kitchen area.  He said it was not considered suspicious.  The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is helping investigate.

Agencies that fought the fire were department from Gainesville, Caney Mountain, Lick Creek and Timber Knob.
