Bikers are encouraged to safely decorate their bikes, and themselves, in pink to increase awareness for the event.

The event was founded by sisters Therese and Jaclyn Bingert in 2012. They came up with the idea for the ride as a memorial for their sister, Mia Bingert Wiecenski, who died from breast cancer in 2007.
