The 2020 Cotton Fest at Cook’s Garage in Lubbock has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

The annual event is a three-day festival that includes live country music, barbecue and camping with proceeds going to the High Cotton Relief Fund. It was originally scheduled to take place April 30-May 1.

“We, along with everyone involved have made the decision that Cotton Fest cannot go on as planned and give you the experience we work so hard to make better each year,” organizers said in a statement.

Several musicians had been announced in the line-up before it was canceled. William Clark Green was going to play, as expected, along with the Josh Abbott Band, Flatland Cavalry, The Panhandlers, Mike Ryan, Randall King, Chris Colston, Kaitlin Butts, Josh Weathers and Ross Cooper.

Organizers announced the delay of Cotton Fest back on March 30, but had been discussing developments with Cook’s Garage on how to continue.

Ticket holders were also informed about refunds. Cotton Fest organizers and Eventbrite has coordinated options for refunds or to transfer the tickets to the 2021 Cotton Fest. Organizers will be emailing ticket holders and campers with more information.
