DE fire marshal investigating early morning blaze in Lewes

LEWES, Del. – In Delaware, we’re learning more about an early morning house fire that completely destroyed a mobile home in Lewes. Officials with the Lewes Fire Department say the Indian River and Rehoboth Beach fire companies had to help put out the blaze. Luckily no one was home at the time of the fire. Right now the state fire marshal’s office is investigating to find out exactly what sparked the blaze.

“The state police was on the scene and advised us that there was a possibility of an elderly subject still in the residence so that made our crews be a little bit more aggressive and they went in the front door work their way to the back and put a good knock on the fire,” said assistant chief Bill Buckaloo.

Fire officials are asking if you have any information regarding the fire to call the fire marshal’s office at 302-856-5298.
