2018's explosive celeb feuds: Meghan's royal pain of a family, Machine Gun Kelly vs. Eminem

2018 is almost over, and we’re taking a look back at a year that saw plenty of Hollywood love stories, successes and, well, feuds.

From Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s epic throwdown to Duchess Meghan’s never-ending drama with her half-sister, plus Machine Gun Kelly's battle with Emimem, we’ve got all the cringe-worthy awkward celebrity arguments of 2018.

Cardi B versus Nicki Minaj

Rappers/singers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have both found massive success in a male-dominated genre, so you’d think they would find some common ground, right? Wrong. The two have long been rivals and when they clashed at a New York Fashion Week party in September, things got physical.

Video circulating on social media showed Cardi B throwing one of her designer shoes at Minaj. Another video showed Cardi being escorted out of the event by security. She was seen leaving the party barefoot in a voluminous red Dolce & Gabbana gown, with what appeared to be a bump on her head.

Minaj later called the very public brawl “mortifying” during a chat on her radio show.

50 Cent versus son Marquise

50 Cent and his son, Marquise Jackson, have long had a rocky relationship, in part due to the rapper's acrimonious relationship with Marquise’s mom, Shaniqua Tompkins. In November, Marquise was seen in an Instagram snap posing with 50’s rival Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff. The rapper responded by commenting on the pic, “if both these little (expletives) got hit by a bus, I wouldn’t have a bad day.”

The comment drew backlash from fans who thought the rapper’s comment was just too harsh, but he later defended himself on Twitter, writing: “I have zero ill will towards anyone living on this Earth… The people (my son) looks up to and associates with is a reflection of the negative energy he embraces towards me.”

Machine Gun Kelly versus Eminem

One of the most heated music feuds of the year ended almost as quickly as it began and was suspiciously timed to the release of new music for both artists. Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly began battling it out over the summer, with Eminem first calling out MGK on his surprise album “Kamikaze.” MGK then fired back with the diss tune “Rap Devil.” But the back-and-forth suspiciously died down right around the time of the release of Machine Gun Kelly’s “Binge,” leading fans to wonder if the feud was all meant to drum up publicity for the rappers’ new music. So was it? The world may never know.

Kim Kardashian West versus Tristan Thompson

Unless you were living under a rock in 2018, you heard that Thompson was caught cheating on Khloe Kardashian in April, and the next day she went into labor with their daughter, True. Khloe seemingly forgave Tristan, but her sister Kim, not so much. The most famous Kardashian sister went on “Ellen” that same month and slammed her sister’s man, which led to Thompson blocking her on Instagram, and a public feud ensued.

Eventually, the two made up, and, of course, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” cameras captured the whole thing – including when they unblocked each other on social media.

Drake versus Pusha T

Drake and Pusha T have been on bad terms for years, with reports of their feud dating back to 2011. Things escalated to a dramatic point over the summer, when the rappers released diss tracks going after one another. Pusha T slammed Drake as a deadbeat dad in his jab, leading to the revelation that Drake had a secret son. The shocking news turned out to be true and was confirmed by Drake, who admitted in October he decided to put an end to the back-and-forth with his rival to stop giving Pusha T attention. He told LeBron James in a sit-down, “I didn’t want to further (Pusha T’s) reputation and your career by rapping back at you and having this exchange, and that was it for me.”

Kanye West versus Candace Owens

The battle between West and Owens that erupted in October was a case of a friendship gone awry. West became an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump over the course of 2018, shocking many of his longtime fans. In the process, he bonded with conservative personality Candace Owens, but their friendship soured when Owens linked Kanye to “Blexit,” a movement encouraging black voters to exit the Democratic party. He later took to social media to disassociate himself with the movement and with Owens.

He wrote, "I introduced Candace (Owens) to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit."

She later apologized to the rapper for her part in the spread of misinformation.

Sarah Jessica Parker versus Kim Cattrall

It’s always awkward to see former friends turn on each other, and that’s how it felt when Cattrall opened up about her awful relationship with Parker. Truth is, it seems the “Sex and the City” stars were never pals – they just played them on TV. In February, after Parker offered her condolences following the death of Cattrall’s brother, her former co-star replied with a harsh message.

"Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now," Cattrall wrote on Instagram. "Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona."

Yikes!

Debra Messing versus Susan Sarandon

Many people argued over politics this year, and Sarandon and Messing were no exception. The liberal stars got into an explosive Twitter feud over Trump – with Messing slamming Sarandon for the way she disparaged Hillary Clinton while throwing her support behind Bernie Sanders.

In one message, Messing wrote in part, “…you were dead WRONG running around bellowing that HRC was more dangerous than Trump. Only a self righteous, narcissist would continue to spout off and not - in the face of Americans’ pain and agony -be contrite and apologize for your part in this catastrophe. But, you do you, Susan."

The two eventually resorted to retweeting negative messages about each other until their heated back-and-forth finally died down.

Tommy Lee and son Brandon are still feuding online, though the 21-year-old has pleaded with his father to take their beef offline.

Tommy Lee versus son Brandon

Another family feud on this list was the bad blood this year between Lee and his son Brandon. The rocker and his son, who he shares with ex Pamela Anderson, got into a physical fight in March. Tommy claimed his son showed up in his room while he was in bed and assaulted him; Brandon said his father is an alcoholic and the fight was an attempted intervention. Either way, the drama only got worse on Father’s Day when the Motley Crue drummer took to Instagram to praise his own father and refer to his sons as spoiled brats. He later shared a post itemizing the money he’d spent raising Brandon. His son responded by offering to pay for his famous dad to go to rehab.

Meghan versus Samantha Markle

Meghan Markle became Duchess Meghan in 2018 when she wed Prince Harry in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in May. George and Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, David and Victoria Beckham and more A-listers attended the event, but noticeably missing was Meghan’s own family. Samantha quickly became the most-outspoken of the estranged family, and gave repeated interviews slamming her soon-to-be-royal sister. Though Meghan didn’t ever comment on the drama with her older half-sis, Samantha was loud enough about their feud for both of them. She apologized to her royal sister in October, but there’s no sign their relationship has improved. (It’s safe to assume if Samantha was in Meghan’s good graces, the very talkative Markle would’ve let the world know.) Plus, Samantha did call her sister epithets like "DuchAss," "Cruella de Vil" and "Princess Pushy," so it’s likely going to be a while before this feud is buried.
