Grafton artist Allison Coelho Picone’s works will be on display in a solo art exhibition at the Parson House Gallery in Assonet during September.

“A Renewal of Spirit: Solo Exhibition of Queen Anne’s Lace & Other Works” will run through Sept. 30 at the 25 North Main Street gallery. There will be 33-40 paintings exhibited.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Sep. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with symphony violinists performing from 2-4 p.m. Allison will be present during the day to informally answer questions and to explain how the QAL series has helped her evolve as an artist and mother by creating healing images through nature, expressing emotions, experimenting with color, and exploring the ideas of life after death and of a mother’s protection. The reception is open to the public with free parking.

Allison Coelho Picone is originally from Middleboro, graduated from Middleboro High School in 1988, and earned two degrees with high honors in illustration and painting. She currently lives in Grafton with her beautiful family and specializes in the local landscape and in nature’s beauty through the style of expressive naturalism.

She is a member of ArtsWorcester, has received numerous awards and has participated in ArtsWorcester’s 2013 Biennial Juried Retrospective show, local juried exhibitions, numerous community events and festivals. As an ArtsWorcester member, she has been invited to have her healing art featured in a four-month-long exhibit this fall at Unum in Worcester.

The show is curated by Sam Ruest, owner of The Parson House Gallery, located at 25 North Main St., Assonet, MA.
