Two end up in Barren Co. jail after rifle and suspected drugs found in truck

On Saturday, December 1, Cave City Police arrested a man from Horse Cave on weapon and drug charges. Officials say he also gave police a false name.

Police said they saw a red ford pickup truck driving on Mammoth Cave Street in a careless manner. Once they made contact with the driver, officers said he was acting nervous and they could see a rifle sticking out from under a blanket on the floor board.

According to police, a search of the truck revealed a 22 Marlin Rifle and a small bag of suspected meth.

Police said they detained the driver, and the name he provided was that of a convicted felon.

A female passenger was identified as Jessica Smith of Horse Cave and she, along with the male driver, was arrested on charges of possession of controlled substance meth.

After the driver was booked into Barren County Detention Center, officials discovered that he gave a family member's name instead of his own.

The driver was then identified as Andre Goodman of Horse Cave.

Goodman was additionally charged with Giving Officer False Identifying Information, Theft Of Identity Of Another W/O Consent.

He was originally charged with Possession Of Controlled Substance Meth, Possession Of Firearm By Convicted Felon, and other traffic offenses.

Goodman and Smith were also served with Bench Warrants for Hart County.
