Issaquah Murder Suspect Caught Fleeing To Mexico: Police

He killed his friend over money, according to police. Police caught up to him in Los Angeles as he was trying to get to Mexico.

ISSAQUAH, WA - Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of an Issaquah man earlier this week. The 29-year-old suspect was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday while he was on his way to the Mexico border.

On Monday, King County detectives responded to a home along the 26200 block of Southeast Nugget Road, which is north of the Issaquah Highlands area. At the home, they found the 43-year-old victim shot and bleeding. He died at the scene.

The 29-year-old suspect was at the scene, too, but he told police he didn't know how his friend wound up dead. Detectives eventually discovered that the shooting happened over a money dispute.

Police got a tip that the suspect was heading to Mexico. He's in custody at the Los Angeles County jail, but will be extradited back to Washington to face a murder charge, according to the sheriff's office.
