Second cruise to Alaska on Princess and already planning the third. Arrived in Anchorage the day before to explore the city. Embarkation was smooth and direct to bus service for disembarkation was awesome. Wildlife seen on this cruise (from ship) included: humpback whales, orca whales, sea otters, sea lions, bald eagles, also saw a moose and mountain goats on bus ride to ship and brown bear cub on train excursion. Witnessed glacier calving at both Hubbard glacier and Glacier Bay National Park. Park rangers and naturalist onboard added great commentary to wildlife and glacier viewings. Took 2 excursions this cruise- (1) White Pass Mountain Railroad in Skagway, love this and is one of my fav's. have taken it on both trips to Alaska and highly recommend. Great excursion for all ages & mobility levels. (2) Mendenhal Glacier and Roberts Tram in Juneau, really enjoyed the visit to the glacier and optional hike to waterfall. Cabin was outside cabin E326. Was listed as fully obstructed view but was pleasantly surprised to find a nice view from the window, could see wonderful mountain views while sitting in chairs, standing in cabin and lying in bed. Would book this cabin again. Spa- enjoyed a nice massage and I will say Princess is getting better about limiting the sales pressure at the end of spa treatments.
Love Alaska and will definitely go back. Most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. Princess is the best choice for Alaska. Best itineraries and excursions.
Very nice view from 1/2 of window at all angles (sitting on chair, lying in bed, standing). Bottom portion of view was of the top of a lifeboat. Pleasantly surprised with the view since it was listed as fully obstructed view. Would book this cabin again. Window was on side of cabin which was nice. Have been in other cabins on another ship where window was above the bed, did not like that.
Bus ride from anchorage to Whittier was about 1.5-2 hrs. Very scenic and was a pleasant transfer experience.
Amazing views of scenery, glaciers and best spot to see sea otters, sea lions and humpback whales.
