Strange Documents Left In Avon Lake Resident's Mailbox

The envelopes did not have U.S. postage adhered to them and included documents about a fictional business.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are investigating a strange incident impacting an Avon Lake resident. Someone is leaving envelopes, without U.S. postage, in the resident's mailbox. Inside the envelopes are documents addressed to the resident's husband...for a fictional business.

Death Investigation, Nov. 7 — Police were called to a home on Curtis Drive for reports of a possible dead body. Officers found a 70-year-old resident passed away in the home. The Lorain County Coroner was contacted.

Juvenile Complaint, Nov. 9 — A girl and her mother came to Avon Lake Police Station to report a possible harassment case. The girl was walking her way home from school when a classmate, a boy, started talking inappropriately to the girl and then pulled her hair and refused to let her leave.

Disorderly Conduct, Nov. 10 — An officer patrolling the city saw a man peeing on a wall outside Tailgator's Bar. The man was cited.

Suspicious Activity, Nov. 9 — Someone has been dropping unmarked envelopes into an Avon Lake resident's mailbox. The envelopes contain documents about a fictional business and are directed to the resident's husband.

Theft, Nov. 12 — A woman left her car unlocked while she briefly went shopping in Drug Mart. A wristlet was taken from the vehicle.

Recovered Automobile, Nov. 13 — The Wakeman Police Department contacted officers in Avon Lake and asked them to check on a possible stolen car they believed was located at an Avon Lake residence. The vehicle was found by Avon Lake police and towed.

Suspicious Activity, Nov. 9 — A Woodside Circle resident reported someone tried to break into their home on Nov. 9. The resident reported the attempted break-in on Nov. 13. The person did not get into the house.
