The following awards were presented during graduation ceremonies at Morrisville-Eaton Central School and held on Friday evening, June 26.

Affiliated Conservation Clubs of Madison County Award, to a student that has shown an interest in expanding their knowledge in the conservation and science field: Cameron Lake.

Assemblyman William Magee Certificate of Merit, to an outstanding citizen who is worthy of the esteem of the community and the State of New York: Delores Relyea and Coby Merkle.

Betty L. Bonney Memorial Award, to a senior who will pursue a college education and has demonstrated a strong dedication to both academics and athletics throughout their high school career: Natalie Diable.

Bill Denny Memorial Award, to a senior boy and girl who pursued the sport of basketball with team spirit and commitment to the game: Coby Merkle and Jessica Murray.

Blythe McPletl Memorial Award, to a senior who shows an interest in theater arts or education: Adriana Acosta.

Board of Education Awards, presented to the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Class of 2015: Valedictorian Coby Merkle, Salutatorian Marcos Zamora.

Charles Bryant Memorial Award, to a senior boy or girl for service and leadership to the school and community: Bradley Smalley.

Class of 2002 Award, to a senior who has been a class officer for least two of his or her high school years: Coby Merkle.

Crouse Community Center Dr. Frank Matthias Award, presented in honor of Dr. Frank Matthias for his life-long community service, to a student entering the medical field: Megan Matthews.

David W. Felton Community Memorial Hospital Award, established June 2006 by the Community Memorial Hospital Board of Directors to recognize President and CEO David W. Felton and his more than 25 years of leadership and commitment to education: Adriana Acosta.

Dewey Roeller Award, to a senior boy or girl who has demonstrated friendliness, dedication to school, and personal scholastic success: Brandon Case.

Dr. Frank & Ruth Matthias Award, to the senior who has achieved the highest average for three years of study in a foreign language: Coby Merkle.

E.On Climate & Renewables Scholarship, to a student who is pursuing an education in related fields of the environment, renewable energy, and agriculture or engineering: Cameron Lake, Graham Harrington and Marcos Zamora.

Eatonbrook Rod and Gun Club Award/Alfred Bowie Memorial Award, to the senior who has demonstrated the most interest and participation in conservation-oriented activities: Tyler Eaton.

Erieville Fire Department Award, available to a senior who lives in the Erieville Fire Department District, who is in good academic standing and has played an active role in his/her community: Matthew Paljarvi.

Evans Scholarship, available to residents of the town of Smithfield who will enter an institution of higher education as a full-time student in the fall: Marcos Zamora.

Evelyn Vaughan Athletics Award, to the senior boy and girl who makes an outstanding contribution to his and her team in the little ways that may often go unnoticed. This award recognizes the team player who makes an above average contribution to his or her team's success by hard work, hustle, enthusiasm, dedication, a love of competition and an appreciation of the value of teamwork: Patrick Ashcraft and Jessica Murray.

Frances B. Sherburne Award, to a graduating senior who has demonstrated devotion to family, perseverance and effort in home-life and school work: Adriana Acosta.

Gaylord and Grace Phelps Award, to the valedictorian of the class of 2015: Coby Merkle.

Gener Harter Award, to a senior boy or girl who has contributed the most to service and leadership to the youth of the school community: Matthew Paljarvi.

Gracie’s Fund, presented each year to a student who cares deeply for animals and is planning on studying some aspect of veterinary medicine, including a DVM program or a veterinary technician study program or animal physical therapy: Jenna Sedore.

Haylor, Freyer, and Coon Achievement Award, to a senior who will pursue an education at a college, university, or trade school and who has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a desire to make the most of his or her abilities: Faith Berger.

Hinman Foundation Scholarship, to students who have a strong desire to pursue higher education and who have demonstrated academic achievement: Coby Merkle, Emily Widger and Marcos Zamora.

Howard Harter Award, to a senior boy or girl who has demonstrated perseverance through self-motivation and commitment to self-improvement to become the best he or she could be: Delores Relyea.

Individualized Study Award, to the student who has demonstrated a high degree of effort to complete an individualized study program. This award is also based upon citizenship and cooperation with teachers and classmates: Emmily Johnson.

Jeff Galbreath Memorial Award (funded by class of 1980/Utica Wheels), to a senior boy who was a member of the varsity basketball team, and who displayed dedication and determination while working to the best of his ability: Matthew Paljarvi.

Joseph “Joe” Lewis Memorial Award, presented in memory of Joe Lewis, who was a former student, to a young man or women who gives unselfishly of their time and presents a good attitude: Bradley Smalley.

Kenneth “Pete” Roeller Award, to the senior who, over the past four years, has exhibited a love of our community and has shown interest in the well-being of others: Kristina Chandler.

Kenneth W. Rifenburg Memorial Award, presented in the memory of Kenny Rifenburg, who was the president of the class of 1959. Kenneth became a well-known antique dealer. He was one of a small group of dealers with an idea that is now known as the Bouckville Antique Show: Marcos Zamora.

Kurt Hall Memorial Award, to a senior boy who is always there to help out, is involved in varsity athletics, but is not necessarily the star. A senior who like Kurt, “found the time to make the time”, to make his team and teammates a little better. A boy who helps those around him, succeed, just by a pleasant smile, warm personality and positive attitude: Patrick Ashcraft.

Loretta Ciolek Memorial Scholarship, presented in the memory of Loretta Ciolek to a member of the senior class whose parent/grandparent has served in the military: Matthew Paljarvi.

Margaret “Peg” Myers Memorial Award, to the senior boy or girl who has demonstrated kindness and compassion, or has exhibited a strong dedication to a purpose and who will pursue a career in teaching: Emily Widger.

Mid York Pop Warner Award, to a senior who has shown commitment, spirit, and enthusiasm to the sport of football: Patrick Ashcraft.

Missy Bartlett Memorial Scholarship, to a senior girl who has been a member of the M-ECS Field Hockey Team. The recipient must be dedicated to hard work and above all, must possess a “never give up” attitude: Natalie Diable.

Morrisville American Legion Mead Post No. 163 Award, to a young man for improved citizenship and scholarship during his senior year: Christopher Hynes.

Morrisville Area Garden Club, to a graduate interested in continuing his/her education in agriculture, horticulture or environmental studies: Cameron Lake.

Morrisville Fire Department Award, to the senior with the highest average in four years of science: Coby Merkle.

Morrisville Lions Club Award, established for graduates of M-ECS who plan to attend college in the fall. The award is based primarily on community involvement: Coby Merkle.

Morrisville Regional Youth Commission Award, to a student who has been instrumental in helping their peers pursue academics, athletics, arts, and community awareness: Brooke Brown, Coby Merkle.

Morrisville-Eaton Faculty Association Award, to a senior that is pursuing a college education. Selection is based on such factors as: demonstrated excellence in academics, character, leadership, financial need and a commitment to a post-secondary degree: Patrick Ashcraft.

Morrisville-Eaton High School Faculty and Staff Award, to a senior(s) who display the qualities of friendliness, and a positive attitude towards all: Tyler Eaton, Graham Harrington, Delores Relyea and Jenna Sedore.

Morrisville-Eaton PTO Award, to a student whose has been accepted to college and is planning a career in education: Delores Relyea and Emily Widger.

Morrisville-Eaton Sports Boosters Section III Scholar Athlete Award, to the boy and girl chosen as the Section III Scholar Athletes: Coby Merkle and Emily Widger.

Morrisville-Eaton Support Staff Award, given by: Building and Grounds, Clerical, Food Service, Nurse's and Transportation Staff at M-ECS to two seniors who have shown good citizenship, a strong work ethic, are self-motivated and have shown determination to become the best they can be: Tyler Eaton and Delores Relyea.

Music Award, to the seniors in band and chorus who have achieved excellence in scholarship, citizenship and attendance: band - Adriana Acosta, chorus - Jocelyn Martin.

New York State Comptroller Achievement Award, to a senior who has shown academic excellence and the potential for leadership through involvement in activities that improve the community: Jessica Murray.

Old Men’s Basketball Award, to the college-bound basketball player who has a love of athletics and competition, a drive to always work and play to the best of his or her ability and a willingness to be a role model for younger students: Emily Widger.

Oneida Healthcare Foundation Award, to a graduate who has been accepted into a two or more year undergraduate nursing or accredited Allied Health Program: Megan Matthews.

Presidential Academic Excellence Award, to recognize academic success in the classroom. Students must have earned a grade point average of 90 or higher. Additionally, the students must have obtained successful scores on math and English state exams: Brooke Brown, Brandon Case, Tyler Eaton, Heidi Gorton, Graham Harrington, Cloe King, Jocelyn Martin, Megan Matthews, Colton Mennig, Coby Merkle, Jessica Murray, Jenna Sedore, Rachel Spring, Emily Widger and Marcos Zamora.

Presidential Academic Achievement Award, to recognize students that show educational growth, improvement or commitment: Patrick Ashcraft, Angelica Cruz, Natalie Diable, Joshua Morrow, Natalie Raymond, Delores Relyea and Bradley Smalley.

Raymond Banks Memorial Award, given in memory of Raymond Banks, a highly respected Dean of Students at Morrisville State College, former principal at M-ECS and member of the Morrisville community. Awarded to a senior for leadership, community service and academic excellence: Colton Mennig.

State Senator David J. Valesky Award, to a senior who is in good academic standing and has played an active role in his/her community through extra-curricular activities and volunteer work: Bradley Smalley.

Tourist Club Prize, to a senior for excellence in art: Rachel Spring.

Wednesday Club Award, to the senior with greatest improvement in English: Adriana Acosta.
