An inspection report, carried out by the NPD, pointed out serious problems at Frigg, including widespread corrosion and excessive staff cuts. "Our impression is that the technical condition of the (Frigg processing) facility could be too low to achieve safe operations," the NPD report said.
The Norwegian offshore safety watchdog also warned the operator about an injunction related to alleged poor and unclear supervision of Frigg maintenance and operations contractor Aker Offshore Partner.
