BlackBerry’s Paul Battaglia: Agencies’ IT Strategy Should Eye Enterprise Mobility Mgmt Tech Adoption

Paul Battaglia

Paul Battaglia, vice president of government sales at BlackBerry (NYSE: BB), has said agencies should integrate mobility as part of the information technology strategy and one way to do it is through adoption of enterprise mobility management platforms.

Battaglia wrote that EMM tools with containerized systems work to address issues related to device management, data security and productivity.

He called on agencies to deploy platforms designed to help employees perform file synchronization and securely share documents with other departments and stakeholders while ensuring visibility and control.

“It is critical that enterprises adopt proven technologies that will ensure the security of all layers and endpoints while maintaining ease-of management, usability, and performance,” he noted.

Battaglia urged agencies to use systems that require encryption, two-factor authentication, secure execution of applications and separation of storage from operating systems.

He also cited the functions of a unified endpoint management tool as well as mobile management approaches that agencies should adopt as part of the enterprise IT strategy.
