Seven takes ratings share on a Friday night of gardening shows
A lacklustre Friday night saw Seven take the ratings honours as news and current affairs dominated the evening’s TV, according to the preliminary OzTam TV overnight ratings.
Seven’s main channel took 19.9% of the five city metro audience, beating out Nine’s 16.3%. The ABC’s 13.2% was better than Ten’s 12.3% while SBS had 5.6% of viewers tune in.
Leading both Seven and Nine’s audiences were the evening News bulletins which drew in 773,000 and 771,000 viewers respectively. Nine’s news also topped the 18-39 and 25-54 advertising demographics.
Two of the three best rating non-news shows for the evening were gardening programs with Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens attracting an audience of 522,000 and the ABC’s Gardening Australia having 464,000 viewers tune in. The Chase Australia attracted 472,000 viewers.
Of the network shares, Seven took 28.5% of the audience over Nine’s 25.1%. The ABC’s 18.9% narrowly edged out Ten’s 18.6% while SBS picked up 8.7% of the audience.
Boss and Peach? Sounds like whoever it was loves Super Mario 64. Maybe 1996 was a good year for them.
