Ella Lindbo

Ella Lindbo passed away on March 5, 2018 at Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND. She was 98 years old.

Ella was born in Picton Township, Towner County, ND on October 5, 1919 to EE and Villia (Murdick) McDougall. She attended Picton School and graduated from Hansboro High School in 1937. She married Burton Thompson and had one daughter. They later divorced. She married Olaf Lindbo on October 4, 1949 in Rolla, ND where they lived on the family farm and raised their family. They moved into Rolla in 1981. Ella worked in the Rolette County Courthouse in many different offices. Olaf died in 1992 and Ella moved to Jamestown, ND in 2001.

Ella is survived by 4 of her 5 children: Mary Jean Lindbo of Carson City, Nevada, Patricia Lindbo of Jamestown, ND, Eric Lindbo of Plains, MT, and Jonelle Lindbo of Jamestown, ND and son-in-law Gary Gailfus of Sun Prairie, WI. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren: Deea Gailfus of Minneapolis, MN, Daedre (Ken) Carlson of Sauk City, WI, Tara (Fred) Simmons of Caseyville, IL, and Misty Lindbo of Butte, MT and her 5 great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Kade Simmons and Emmalyn, Evan, and Eliot Carlson. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Marjorie McDougall of Brookings, OR and Patty Lindbo of Winchester, MA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Olaf, and daughter Ella Faye Gailfus.

A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date to be held in Rolla, ND. Burial will be at the Rolla Cemetery.
