Rihanna and boyfriend A$AP Rocky opted to ring in the new year in her native Barbados.

The couple – who have been dating since the beginning of 2020, with Rocky sweetly confirming their romance in May – was snapped leaving a New Year’s celebration party in Bridgetown, having arrived on the island on Thursday.

Superstar singer Rihanna, 33, was dressed to the nines for the occasion, in a one-shoulder glittering black floor-length gown with a thigh-high split and matching feather-fringed shawl.

The star paired her dress with black embellished stiletto heels and a sliver beaded necklace, and opted to war her hair in long braids.

Meanwhile, Rocky, also 33, kept things casual in jean shorts, fresh trainers and a white hoodie emblazoned with the US flag.

Keeping his head down, he wore a New York Yankees baseball cap.

The pair were seen out in early December enjoying a little bit of shopping in New York, just days after the We Found Love singer was made a National Hero in Barbados.

The country cut ties with the UK this year and removed Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state, becoming the world’s newest Republic.

Rihanna was spotted making Prince Charles laugh as he attended the presidential inauguration ceremony at Heroes Square, Bridgetown, where the star was visibly touched to be honoured as the country’s 11th National Hero for her achievement in entertainment and shining a positive light on Barbados globally.

Ahead of her celebrations to mark 2022, RiRi also stunned the internet with her latest Savage X Fenty shoot, posted to Instagram ahead of the end of the year.

Wearing a lacy purple number from her line, she posed up against a door as the caption read: Ain’t gotta change ish next year.’

The chart-topper also continues to tease fans ahead of the release of her next album, dubbed R9, which fans have been eagerly anticipating since 2016’s Anti and is apparently due ‘soon’.
