Meet the Staff at NewArts This Summer

Newtown, CT - The 1214 Foundation's NewArts program is dedicated to fostering well-being in children by instilling grit and resilience through their character development program coupled with a high-level mastery experience. This year's mastery experience is MATILDA.

The 1214 Foundation's NewArts program will present MATILDA August 2-4 & August 9-11 at Masuk High School in Monroe, CT. Tickets are now on sale.

Meet the staff of the NewArts

This week on their Facebook page, NewArts started off with their ARC interns, Thomas Valenti and Maddy Oldham. Both are recipients of the CT Arts Workforce Initiative Grants.

Thomas Valenti is from Weston, CT and is currently studying Classical Vocal Performance at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. It is his first summer involved with NewArts and he is loving it so far!

Thomas said that he has already learned so much about himself and his strengths and cannot wait to learn more. His favorite memory so far has been teaching his first ARC session and getting to know the cast everyday.

Maddy Oldham is from Brookfield, CT and is studying Drama and Early Childhood/Childhood Education at Hofstra University. Maddy previously performed in three NewArts shows and spent last year volunteering with ARC.

As a previous student of the ARC program, she has learned so much about who she is as a person and how to confidently rely on herself to work through challenges. She loved seeing how quickly ARC was able to enact change in the students and cannot wait to see that growth again this summer!!
