Volleyball player Gabrielle Reece has been named as the host of NBC’s new competition reality series “Strong,” the network announced Wednesday.

From executive producers Dave Broome, Sylvester Stallone and Holly Wofford, the 10-episode series “Strong” matches everyday women with the world’s most elite trainers to conquer obstacles that were once unfathomable.

“I couldn’t be more proud and thrilled to partner up with NBC on ‘STRONG,’” Reece said in a statement. “The opportunity to share the concept of people wanting to and working toward tapping into their greatness is a dream. My hope is that we can use the show to inspire and motivate others.”

The series will take 10 women — all of whom are looking to improve themselves mentally and physically — and pair them with some of the world’s top fitness trainers. Each week, each two-person team will work together and compete in a series of grueling challenges.

“Strong” is produced by 25/7 Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.
