A suspect briefly fled on foot into a Chick-fil-A but was soon arrested after crashing a vehicle during a chase with law enforcement Friday evening in North Lubbock.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the two-vehicle crash in North Lubbock following the police chase after 6 p.m.

Lubbock County Sheriff's Lt. Bryan Taylor, said the sheriff's office was involved in the chase prior to the crash, although he did not have additional details about what prompted it by Friday evening.

"They had a vehicle pursuit. The guy wrecked out and fled on foot. Evidently he went into Chick-fil-A," Taylor said, referring to the restaurant at Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue.

The crash near 3rd Street and University Avenue involved two dark-colored sedans and prompted officials to block off southbound lanes of University Avenue a little before 7 p.m. Friday.

Officials with the Lubbock Police Department, Lubbock County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety were at the scene.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the chase or if there were any injuries, but it appeared that someone was placed in an ambulance from University Medical Center EMS.
