NY Times Bestselling Author Of ‘White Rage’ To Speak At Davidson

New York Times bestselling author and historian Carol Anderson will discuss her book "White Rage" at Davidson College Sunday.

DAVIDSON, NC — Carol Anderson, New York Times bestselling author of “White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide” will speak at Davidson College Sunday evening in an event that is free to the public.

Anderson is a human and civil rights advocate and an expert on African American history and 20th-century politics. She is the Charles Howard Candler Professor and Chair of African American Studies at Emory University, and the recent recipient of a 2018 Guggenheim Fellowship.

White Rage is her most recent book and has earned praise as a New York Times Bestseller, National Book Critics Circle Award Winner, and A Chicago Review of Books Best Nonfiction Book of 2016.

In the words of the Boston Globe, White Rage is “[A] powerful survey of American history as seen in the violent white reactions to black progress, from Reconstruction to the great migration to the current political landscape.”

The April 22 event, which is sponsored by Davidson College’s Department of History and a Justice, Equality, and Community Mellon grant, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Lilly Gallery.
