Shallowford Pres. Names Children's Choir Director

Children's Choirs are open to the public from age 3 through Grade 5

Shallowford Presbyterian Church (SPC) recently named Anne Thomas as the Director of Children’s Choirs, She works under the direction of Emily Floyd, Director of Music Ministries, at this growing church of more than 1,000 members located in central DeKalb County.

Ms. Thomas has responsibility for the following choirs: Cherub (age 3 to Kindergarten), Trinity (grades 1-2), and Westminster (grades 3 to 5). All choirs are open to the public.

“Anne is and accomplished musician and teacher who loves working with kids,” said Emily Floyd, Director of Music Ministries at Shallowford. “She brings energy, enthusiasm and a vision for our children’s choirs as she joins our team this fall.”

A native of Tucker, Ms. Thomas came to Shallowford from Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where she served as the Director of children’s Choirs for the past 12 years. She has also led Children’s and middle school choirs at St. Andrews Presbyterian church and tucker First United Methodist Church and has experience in the public schools.

Ms. Thomas lives in Tucker with her husband Michael and their four sons.
