SWAT team, law enforcement conduct search warrant

There was a slight commotion in downtown Alexandria Friday morning around 9 a.m., as the Douglas County SWAT team entered a home in the area of Seventh Avenue and Kenwood Street.

They were conducting a narcotics search warrant, according to a media release, which states that Justin Michael Caswell, 36, of Alexandria, was taken into custody for methamphetamine-related crimes.

Also on scene were members of the Alexandria Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the West Central MN Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
