Canton's New Hometown Hero: Michael White Becomes Firefighter

The family tradition will carry on as Michael White's uncle was the fire captain in North Attleboro.

CANTON, MA — Michael White will get the chance to help save lives in the town he grew up in after graduating from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Monday.

White was among 38 firefighters from 29 departments to graduate from the academy's 268th class. White and the other graduates were recognized at a ceremony at the Department of Fire Services headquarters in Stow.

The family tradition will carry on with White, whose family has a proud history working in fire services. His uncle, Capt. Jack White worked in the North Attleboro Fire Department.
